Port St. Lucie Artificial Grass started in 2008, when its founder was running irrigation repairs across St. Lucie County and kept getting the same call. Homeowners had replaced the same patches of St. Augustine two or three times, only to lose them again to chinch bugs, shade or summer watering limits. After one too many dead lawns, he laid his first synthetic yard for a family in Tradition whose two dogs had turned the backyard into sand.
Word spread through neighbors and HOA boards, and the two-person crew grew into a full installation team with its own equipment and a warehouse on US Highway 1. That same building now holds a sample yard where homeowners can walk barefoot on different turf styles, roll a golf ball across putting surfaces and see how each product looks in real Florida sun.
The work has changed a lot since that first dog run, but the approach hasn’t. Every job is still measured by the person who will oversee it, and nothing gets rolled out until the base underneath is right.
The goal is simple. Give Treasure Coast families and businesses outdoor space they can actually use year round, without the mowing, watering and reseeding that eats up weekends. That means picking turf for how the yard gets used and building a base that handles our heavy summer rain.
Over the next decade, the company wants to be the first name homeowners and property managers think of when a lawn stops cooperating. Part of that is helping more neighborhoods cut outdoor water use, and part of it is training the next generation of installers to do the job properly from the ground up.
Every project is handled by in-house installers who have been trained on the same methods, so the person who measures the yard knows exactly who will build it. Subcontractors never show up on your property, which keeps the quality and the schedule consistent.
Picking turf from a small sample square rarely tells the full story. The sample yard lets you compare blade height, softness and heat side by side, which makes it far easier to find the right fit for kids, pets or a putting green.
Most turf problems start below the surface, not on top of it. We sweat the small details on grading and compaction, laying a crushed rock base sloped to move water away from the house so the yard drains well after an afternoon downpour.
